PLEASE only those with intermediate to advanced Ruby on Rails experience need apply, as this is a prerequisite. \n<br />\n<br />You will be responsible for new functionality, testing and integrating code contributed by freelancers and volunteers, as well as bug fixes and updates.\n<br />\n<br />We are a Christian nonprofit missionary organization, so pay is considered below fair market value for this field. \n<br />\n<br />If you are looking for a way to use your God-given gifts and talents to benefit orphaned and destitute children in Africa and the Dominican Republic and join a movement of people making a difference in the world, JOIN US! \n<br />\n<br />Responsibilities:\n<br />\u2022\tIntegrating code contributed by freelancers and volunteers\n<br />\u2022\tDeveloping new application components as well as refactoring, spec\u2019ing, and refining the current code base\n<br />\u2022\tDocumenting and testing additions to the code base\n<br />\u2022\tShort frequent, iterative releases\n<br />\u2022\tDeploying releases to the server\n<br />\u2022\tServer administration\n<br />\n<br />Required:\n<br />\u2022\tDedication to test driven development\n<br />\u2022\tDemonstrated Ruby on Rails experience\n<br />\u2022\tExperience with Linux command-line and server administration\n<br />\u2022\tRelational database skills \u2013 MySQL, Rails-style structure\n<br />\u2022\tExperience with Git (GitHub) or other version-control system\n<br />\n<br />Desirable:\n<br />\u2022\tExperience with RSpec\n<br />\u2022\tExperience with Mac OS X\n<br />\u2022\tStrong web skills (construction, not design) \u2013 HTML/CSS/JavaScript\n<br />\n<br />SPECIAL NOTE: Children of the Nations is an EXTRAORDINARY organization to be a part of.
