We are looking for a motivated individual with solid software engineering experience to help design and implement web applications and backend systems in a Ruby on Rails environment.  This is for a full-time position, currently as part of a distributed team, but eventually to be located mostly on-site in offices in Cambridge (probably Harvard or Kendall Sq).&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;

The ideal candidate is...
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;
  * an excellent coder with an intuitive grasp of technology&lt;br&gt;
  * passionate about coding&lt;br&gt;
  * a contributor to open source projects&lt;br&gt;
  * not afraid to learn and figure things out for themselves&lt;br&gt;
  * a college graduate with a computer science degree&lt;br&gt;
  * experienced in mostly startups or small companies&lt;br&gt;
  * not scared of anything: Linux, SQL, CSS, Javascript, whatever! &lt;br&gt;
  * agile friendly (we do TDD, Sprints, Daily SCRUMs) &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;

...and knows... &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;

  *  ruby/rails&lt;br&gt;
  *  server side software engineering practices&lt;br&gt;
  *  HTML/CSS/JS - UI skills a plus, but should be secondary to backend skills&lt;br&gt;
  *  command line environments (Linux / OSX)
